Dark Chocolate Bark with Mango, Mandarin and Coconut 🍊

Our freeze-dried snacks are delicious as is right in the bag! But they can also be used to make beautiful culinary creations.

So today we present to you a favorite recipe from our co-founder Karissa: Dark Chocolate Bark with Freeze-Dried Mango, Freeze-Dried Mandarin and Coconut.

Ingredients :

  • 600g of dark chocolate of your choice
  • 1 bag of Lyo & Co. freeze-dried mandarins.
  • 1 bag of Lyo & Co. freeze-dried mangoes (Special Edition*)
  • 1/4 cup sweetened desiccated coconut

Steps :

  1. In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate, stirring constantly.
  2. Using a candy thermometer, when melted chocolate has reached between 37-43°C, add another 200g of dark chocolate. Stir until everything has melted and remove from the bain-marie.
  3. On a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, spread the chocolate using a spatula.
  4. On top of the chocolate, add freeze-dried mandarins, pieces of freeze-dried mango* and dried coconut.
  5. Leave at room temperature for about 1 to 3 hours, or until the chocolate has hardened.
  6. Using a knife, cut pieces of chocolate and enjoy! Store in the refrigerator or freezer afterwards.

*Freeze-dried mango can be replaced with dried mango, cut into small pieces.
